Silvia Castillo, especialista del Laboratorio de Aguas Naturales, present\u00f3 su tema de tesis defendida el pasado mes de febrero para optar por el t\u00edtulo de M\u00e1ster en Gesti\u00f3n Ambiental en la Facultad de Ciencias e Ingenier\u00eda de la UNAN-Managua. La tesis gir\u00f3 alrededor del <strong>Uso de diatomeas y su relaci\u00f3n con la calidad de agua del R\u00edo Pire, Condega &#8211; Estel\u00ed, durante la estaci\u00f3n seca y lluviosa (per\u00edodo 2014 \u2013 2015).<\/strong> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El objetivo general del estudio fue evaluar la din\u00e1mica de la comunidad de diatomeas perif\u00edticas y su relaci\u00f3n con la calidad f\u00edsico-qu\u00edmica del agua del R\u00edo Pire. Entre los principales resultados est\u00e1n que la comunidad de diatomeas en el r\u00edo est\u00e1 representada por 73 taxas, 24 g\u00e9neros y 49 especies y que no se detectaron variaciones significativas (espaciales y temporales) en las variables ambientales analizadas.
